What is petridish?

Petridish is a shared office space at 8 Stafford St, Dunedin, located in the historic Ross & Glendining building. Owned by Kate and Jason Lindsay it’s a space where co-working meets community creating a great culture for the space being a top priority - hence the name, Petridish. It’s a name that plays off of culture and growth.

The members who reside at Petridish make the community what it is - friendly, helpful, collaborative, inspiring and inclusive. Set over five floors, Petridish caters to different community needs, from vibrant collaborative spaces to quiet zones and a professional penthouse setting.

Petridish also offers a community function space and cafe/bar on the ground floor, and an Inventors Lab/Workshop for early-stage prototyping.

The Team at Res.Awesome harness some pretty powerful female energy to get sh*t done. One of Res.Awesome’s many missions is to provide our community with the tools to feel empowered; whether it be through education or providing alternative ideas for reducing and reusing. We encourage people to look at waste differently and learn how to identify the treasures in our ‘waste’ that often have the potential to be fed back into the community and reused.

Today, the work of Res.Awesome involves building initiatives, facilitating networking events, providing consultancy services, as well as inspiring, educating and supporting people within communities. Above all, we value Papatūānuku and our goal to create a circular reuse economy for Dunedin City will ultimately relieve the pressure on our current ‘waste to landfill’ pathway, both spatially and financially.

We are looking forward to sharing our journey with you at the upcoming Women In Business Otago event on the 26th November. Here we will be sharing some things we have learned in the hopes of helping you realise your zero waste + carbon positive dreams! At Res.Awesome we envision a waste-free future that can be born out of amazing community collaboration….. now that’s a world we want to live in. We hope you will join us on this journey and we can see some happy faces at PetriDish on the 26th of November.
